France Galop supports the French breeding industry by awarding additional bonuses to breeders of flat and jump horses born or bred in France (or considered eligible) that earn prize money.
For jump horses:
- All French races (excluding premium races): +14.5%
- Premium races for 3-, 4- and 5-year-olds: +16%
- Races abroad: +10% (limited to horses under 10 years old, born and bred in France or eligible, with an annual cap of €20,000 per horse, provided the minimum purse is €14,000)
For flat horses:
Horses born before 2014:
- Open races with owner premiums: +13%
- Races restricted to horses born/bred in France: +16%
- AQPS, Purebred Arabian, and Anglo-Arab races: +13% or +18% depending on the race type
Horses born from 2014 onwards
(applies to horses under 6 years old, except in Group and Group PA races where it applies regardless of age):
- Open races with owner premiums: +13% if the stallion is based in France (otherwise +8.5%)
- Races restricted to horses born/bred in France and by a France-based stallion: +16% (otherwise +12%)
